Gaafu Alif Atoll- Maldives/ Maldives Holiday Homes

Officially known as Southern Huvadhu Atoll, this atoll of 82 natural islands is known throughout the country for its unique Dhivehi accent, which closely resembles the Sinhala language used by the people of neighbouring Sri Lanka. The atoll prides itself in having close links to ancient kings of Maldives who ruled the country during the pre-Islamic period. With amazing dive sites, Gaafu Alifu Atoll provides tourists a chance to witness a considerable number of shark sightings, as well as Buddhist archaeological remains such as low hills left by ruined stupas especially in the island of Devvadu.
